Well, as you know, Lord Avon is my favorite, but there are others I enjoy as well. I've always admired authors who are skilled enough to weave difficult realities into their fantasy worlds. Sometimes bittersweet endings fit the story better than happy ones, as strange as that is to say. A little like when Ramuh had me put that story together, and made me decide the outlook of the whole thing, right?
So, ah... I suppose I mean to say the same thing as you. Other genres are interesting, but can be very polarizing depending on who you ask. It's difficult to ignore when a reader is suddenly presented with a very real and personal subject, though.
