Personality:
Confident to the point of cockiness, mischievous, streetwise, and a mild level of perverted, Zidane's a different protagonist for Final Fantasy, but not that unfamiliar with many a shounen hero. Abandoned at the age of four on a world he was alien to, he grew up on the other side of the law which makes him have a disregard to most authority and showing respect where and when it's earned; not that respect always spares friends from the occasional harmless teasing.

Though he can be quite a chaotic force, it's rarely is the intent to harm. In truth, Zidane's a very selfless individual despite all perceived selfishness.

His exuding confidence often ends up being what keeps the party's spirits high and pushing them forward despite tragedy, and his troublesome nature contributes to him joking and making others happy. Much of what he does, and what he decides to do can often boils down to: 1) does someone need help, and 2) can I possibly help them. Even if helping someone might end up leading him on an adventure to save the world, he wouldn't regret doing it, and he'll be serious enough to follow through.

However, because much of Zidane's personality circles around bettering others, he often disregards any personal tribulations or turmoils that might be weighing on his own mind. For a long time, Zidane didn't know where he came from or the purpose of his birth, and after failing to find the answers, he decides he wouldn't worry about it despite how much of that unknown actually seeps into what worldly knowledge he holds.

What did the purpose of his birth matter to the person he was now? You are an individual, he tells Vivi.

This was his home... maybe, he tells Dagger in regards to Baku raising him.

For so many questions in the world, you'd think there'd be more answers. It's not fair, he proclaims into the night.

When the truth of his birth and nature comes out, it breaks Zidane to fall into despair, and makes him wonder if he truly deserves any of his life. That home which he yearned for? It's all his fault that Gaia's destruction was imminent whether he was the harbinger for it or not, right? That Vivi has to confront his morality at a young age? That Garnet lost her home and mothers? For all his boastfulness before, he angrily tries pushing his friends away and goes to confront his creator alone despite the odds to make up for all the trouble he perceives he's caused, but his friends refuse to let him go it alone. Just as he's reached out to them, they reach out to him to assure him that despite this revelation, that didn't change who he was.

Zidane's still the selfless young man that gives for the sake of others - including the one that may have been responsible for his abandonment years ago.

Abilities & Inventory:
Zidane himself was raised as an actor to cover his true nature as a Treasure Hunter - which is a fancy way of saying Thief. As such, many of his skills are used to bend the tide of battle and also lighten an enemy's load of any items or money they might have on their person. He can also end a battle should things not be going his way by providing a distraction and allowing all combatants to escape unscathed at the cost of a few coins.

However, that's normal Zidane. By his true nature as an Angel of Death and destroyer of Gaia, Zidane's full strength is in his Trance, a state which often becomes active when at the receiving end of strong, hostile energy, but can also be fueled by Zidane's own strong emotions. Once in Trance, Zidane's physical strength increases and all of his thieving abilities goes out the window, leaving behind a purely physical combatant (See: Dyne Ability list). This transformation is also shown through his appearance where he loses his clothes, grows pink fur and claws, and his eyes turn red.

There's a limit fortunately on Trance - that being it requires a great deal of Spirit to maintain the state and it will burn off in time or once whatever enemy Zidane faces is defeated. As well, he would likely impose a limit on himself within Songerein as to avoid accidentally hurting anyone else or damaging Songerein itself.

As for his Inventory, Zidane's never without his Orichalcon dagger and a second dagger which can be changed out, and both can then be connected together at the hilts to form a thief sword. He also carries with him a basic supply of potions, antidotes, and other curatives since he can't use healing magic himself normally (Sacrifice works on the party), and finally money to purchase supplies as needed... well, if he decides not to steal them.

For any dreamotion powers he may develop, he'll pick up some minor elemental magic and healing as influenced by some friends back home, but his Trance abilities may occasionally bleed in based on his emotional state.

Suitability & Plans: Since Zidane is an outgoing and helpful character, he'll take to Songerein with no issues. Even though he's a very realized character, it's not a matter of possibly changing him that I'm interested in playing out, but seeing how he can further influence others as someone who's reason for doing anything for people is that no reason is needed besides them needing help. Also, if there's any risk of Dreamscapes influencing the worlds outside, he'd want to make sure to protect his world and other ones.
